SUBMISSION: Draft NT Circular Economy Strategy 2022-27

Keep Top End Coasts Healthy (KTECH) has done a submission on the NT Government’s strategy to create a circular economy for the Northern Territory.

Half of Australia has already banned single-use plastics like straws, cutlery and polystyrene food containers. New South Wales is banning them this November, and Victoria will ban single-use plastics in 2023. Yet the NT is at the back of the pack - still allowing dangerous plastics like straws, cutlery and plastic bags to pollute our rivers and coasts.

With earth safe alternatives available, we just don’t need these killer plastics anymore. It’s time to clean up the Territory and put our wildlife first.
