Developing a Coastal and Marine Management Strategy to manage current and future threats and adequately safeguard the Territory’s coasts and waterways into the future. The Plan will be –
- evidence-based and culturally sensitive, using sound science and a strongly consultative approach to management and conservation involving all Territorians,
- include a range of Territory specific coastal and marine protection measures, which will act as an insurance policy for the Territory’s unique lifestyle and its natural and cultural values, and will commence its implementation from 2018.
